"short_description": "The Berkey Light water filter with 2 original Black Berkey filter elements. The ideal water filter for home or on the go. Suitable for 2-5 people.",
"description": "Berkey Light Water Filter – Berkey is one of the best-selling brands of water filters and purification systems in the world, and it is recommended by various health magazines, laboratories and independent health websites. There are millions of satisfied customers worldwide.\n\n#### Information about the Berkey Light Water Filter\n\nBerkey water filters remove more than 99.9% of chlorine, viruses, bacteria, cysts, medicine residues, parasites and dangerous chemical contaminants. Heavy metals are filtered out by 95% (up to almost 100% even with [fluoride and arsenic filters](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/fluoride-en-arsenicum-filter-elementen/)). The essential minerals your body needs are retained.\n\nThe Berkey Light water filter comes as standard with 2 original [Black Berkey filter elements](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/black-berkey-waterfilter-elementen/) and can be expanded to 4 elements. [Black Berkey filter elements](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/black-berkey-waterfilter-elementen/) use the latest technological developments in water purification. Berkey water filters are therefore regarded as the best and most sustainable water filter systems on the market, and as the best-performing portable water filters. The Black Berkey filter elements have been tested by an independent laboratory according to NSF/ANSI standards 42 and 53. See the [laboratory report](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Testrapport-Black-Berkey-filterelementen.pdf) for more details.\n\nThe whole unit holds about 10.4 litres of water, more than enough for most needs. You can use the Black Berkey filter elements for several years, so the unit pays for itself quickly compared with other brands of water filters.\n\nThe housing is made of non-BPA/BPS co-polyester, which does not retain unpleasant smells or leach into the water.\n\n#### Features of the Berkey Light Water Filter\n\n- The ideal water filter for home. Suitable for use by 2-5 people\n\n- Filters out more than 99.9% of viruses, bacteria, cysts and parasites\n\n- Filters out pesticides and medicine residues so well that they are no longer measurable\n\n- Filters out more than 95% of heavy metals (up to almost 100% even with [fluoride and arsenic filters](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/fluoride-en-arsenicum-filter-elementen/))\n\n- Easy to use\n\n- Capacity of 10.4 litres\n\n- Supplied as standard with 2 [Black Berkey filter elements](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/black-berkey-waterfilter-elementen/)\n\n- Expandable to 4 [Black Berkey filter elements](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/black-berkey-waterfilter-elementen/)\n\n- Made of a non-BPA/BPS co-polyester, which does not retain unpleasant smells or leach into the water\n\n- Filters 15.2 litres per hour with 2 elements\n\n- Filters 30.4 litres per hour with 4 elements\n\n- Height: 67 cm (including the base, which is included)\n\n- Diameter: 23 cm\n\n#### What's in the box\n\nThe box of the Berkey Light water filter contains: two chambers (upper and lower), a base, 2 Black Berkey filter elements, 1 fabric lid, 1 plastic tap (with fixing materials), 2 wing nuts (for Black Berkey filter elements), 2 washers (for Black Berkey filter elements), 1 priming button (for priming the Black Berkey filter elements), 2 blocking plugs (to fill the free holes, which can therefore be used to expand the water filter with extra Black Berkey filter elements) and the [Priming Starter Kit](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/berkey-waterfilters-priming-starter-kit/).\n\n#### Installation\n\nYou can easily assemble the Berkey Light in a few minutes without any tools. The first step in preparing a Berkey water filter is priming the [Black Berkey filter elements](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/black-berkey-waterfilter-elementen/). It is important that this is done properly, otherwise purifying the water takes a very long time. For all information about Berkey water filters, we refer you to our [library](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/de-bieb/), which includes manuals, instruction videos and answers to frequently asked questions. If priming with the tap does not work, you can order an [automatic primer pump](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/boroux-automatische-filter-primer-pomp/) or a [manual primer pump](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/black-berkey-primer/) from us.",
