"short_description": "The Imperial Berkey water filter **with 2 original Black Berkey filter elements** (can take up to 6 elements). Suitable for use by 4-8 people.",
"description": "Imperial Berkey Water Filter – Berkey is one of the best-selling brands of water filters and purification systems in the world and is recommended by various health magazines, laboratories and independent health websites. There are millions of satisfied customers worldwide.\n\n#### Information about the Imperial Berkey Water Filter\n\nBerkey water filters filter out more than 99.9% of chlorine, viruses, bacteria, cysts, medicine residues, parasites and hazardous chemical contaminants. Heavy metals are filtered out by 95% (up to almost 100% even with [fluoride and arsenic filters](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/fluoride-en-arsenicum-filter-elementen/)). The essential minerals your body needs are retained.\n\nThe Imperial Berkey water filter comes as standard with 2 original [Black Berkey filter elements](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/black-berkey-waterfilter-elementen/) and can be expanded to 6 elements. [Black Berkey filter elements](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/black-berkey-waterfilter-elementen/) use the latest technological developments in water purification. Berkey water filters are therefore regarded as the best and most durable water filter systems on the market and are the best-performing portable water filters. The Black Berkey filter elements have been tested by an independent laboratory to NSF/ANSI standards 42 and 53. See the [laboratory report](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Testrapport-Black-Berkey-filterelementen.pdf) for more details.\n\nThe whole unit holds approximately 17 litres of water, more than enough for most needs. You can use the Black Berkey filter elements for several years, so you quickly earn back the cost of the unit compared with other brands of water filters.\n\nThe housing is made of polished stainless steel (304), for long-lasting durability.\n\n#### Features of the Imperial Berkey Water Filter\n\n- The ideal water filter for larger families, groups, events, day nurseries and offices. Suitable for use by 4-8 people\n\n- Filters out more than 99.9% of viruses, bacteria, cysts and parasites\n\n- Filters out pesticides and medicine residues so well that they are no longer measurable\n\n- Filters out more than 95% of heavy metals (up to almost 100% even with [fluoride and arsenic filters](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/fluoride-en-arsenicum-filter-elementen/))\n\n- Easy to use\n\n- Capacity of 17 litres\n\n- Supplied as standard with 2 [Black Berkey filter elements](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/black-berkey-waterfilter-elementen/)\n\n- Expandable to 6 [Black Berkey filter elements](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/black-berkey-waterfilter-elementen/)\n\n- Very durable, polished AISI 304 stainless steel\n\n- Filters 20.8 litres per hour with 2 elements\n\n- Filters 41.5 litres per hour with 4 elements\n\n- Filters 62.5 litres per hour with 6 elements\n\n- Height: 66 cm\n\n- Diameter: 25.5 cm\n\n#### Contents of the box\n\nThe box of the Imperial Berkey water filter contains: two stainless steel chambers (upper and lower), 2 Black Berkey filter elements, 1 stainless steel lid, 1 plastic tap (with mounting hardware), 2 wing nuts (for Black Berkey filter elements), 2 washers (for Black Berkey filter elements), 1 priming button (to prime Black Berkey filter elements), 4 blocking plugs (to fill the unused holes, which can therefore be used to expand the water filter with extra Black Berkey filter elements) and the [Priming Starter Kit](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/berkey-waterfilters-priming-starter-kit/).\n\n#### Installation\n\nYou can easily assemble the Imperial Berkey in a few minutes without tools. The first step in preparing a Berkey water filter is priming the [Black Berkey filter elements](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/black-berkey-waterfilter-elementen/). It is important that this is done properly, otherwise purifying the water takes a very long time. For all information about Berkey water filters, we refer you to our [library](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/de-bieb/), which contains manuals, instruction videos and answers to frequently asked questions, among other things. If priming with the tap does not work, you can order an [automatic primer pump](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/boroux-automatische-filter-primer-pomp/) or [manual primer pump](https://www.alternatievemiddelen.nl/producten/black-berkey-primer/) from us.",
