This is not actually possible, because the rubber ring sits on the other side of the hole. Because it is flexible, it naturally allows for a little play. If you keep tightening, the flexibility will eventually run out and too much tension will be placed on the wing nut. This can damage the groove of the wing nut. Our advice is therefore simply to tighten it until it is ‘on’ (you feel resistance); that is sufficient.",
