ProOne disappeared: the real element is called Coldstream FTO PLUS
ProOne was taken over in America, but the famous filter element comes from an English factory and is still around, under its own name. This is how your system keeps running.
What happened to ProOne
For years ProOne was the price-conscious choice among gravity filters: a powerful all-in-one ceramic element, no fuss with priming or with additional fluoride filters. Until the company was taken over in America, stopped selling through dealers and the brand as customers knew it disappeared from the market. If you now have a ProOne Traveler+, Big + or Big II water filter (or even older ProOne models) on your worktop, you will no longer find a box with that logo on it anywhere.
The element has existed longer than the brand
Here is the reassurance: the filter element that made ProOne big, the G2.0, was never made by ProOne itself. It came from an English factory, and it is still rolling off the production line there, under its own name: Coldstream FTO PLUS. Same ceramic element, same factory, only the brand sticker of the middleman is gone.
What the Coldstream can do
It is a ceramic element with a filled core, which makes it low-maintenance: priming is not needed, and neither are separate fluoride add-on filters, because fluoride reduction is already built in. Its lifespan is 1,500 litres or six months (whichever comes first); cleaning it once a month together with the chambers is all the maintenance there is. The test reports and manuals can be found in the library of Alternatievemiddelen.nl.
Does it fit my ProOne?
Yes: the Coldstream FTO PLUS is the direct successor in every ProOne Traveler+, Big+ and Big II water filter. And unfortunately also No: for the ProOne Scout II and the ProOne water filter jug there is no successor; sales of these were so minimal at ProOne that Coldstream can no longer produce these filters. Get in touch with Alternatievemiddelen.nl for advice on alternatives. And if you are ready for a whole new system, you do not have to give up the shape: the Pure Filters systems (Voyager 6L, Home 9L and Family 12L) are supplied as standard with two Coldstream FTO PLUS elements. Replacing the filters after that is always the same, every 6 months.
In short. ProOne disappeared, the element did not. It is called Coldstream FTO PLUS, comes from the same English factory, fits your existing ProOne Traveler+, Big+ or Big II system and is fitted as standard in the Pure Filters systems. No priming, fluoride included, replace every six months.
