With most gravity water filters, you have to lift the upper tank to see how much water is left in the lower tank. But a quick glance at the viewing tap is all you need to determine the exact water level in your stainless steel water filter. Ideal for the 6L and 8.5L versions of Berkey and Pure Filters.

The housing is made of stainless steel and includes a glass tube so you can read the water level easily and quickly. This tap with sight glass has a plastic handle (approved for food safety) with 2 positions and a 19 cm sight glass. When it is time to clean your stainless steel water filter, simply remove the tap, take the glass out via the cap at the top and rinse the glass tube with soap and water. Then leave it to air dry.

Installation

1. Remove the nut and all 4 parts (cover plates and white rings) from the threaded stem of the tap.

2. Remove the blue protective plastic film from both stainless steel cover plates. Place a stainless steel cover plate and then a white ring on the threaded stem of the tap.

3. Push the threaded stem through the hole in the lower tank of the water filter.

4. Place a white ring and then a stainless steel cover plate on the threaded stem on the inside of the lower tank of the water filter.

5. Secure with the nut. You may need a spanner to tighten it firmly. Alternatively, you can hold the nut on the inside and turn the tap on the outside. Do not overtighten, but it must not leak.
