Berkey PrimeRite Universal Primer + PF-2 adapter – These parts are ideal for Berkey users to help with priming the Berkey filter elements.

The product contains the following parts:

● 1x PrimeRite Universal Primer: handy tool for priming the Black Berkey filter elements with the tap.

● 1x PrimeRite Fluoride & Arsenic filter adapter: an adapter so that you can also prime the Fluoride & Arsenic filters with ease.

The first step in preparing a Berkey water filter is priming the Black Berkey filter elements. It is important that this is done properly, otherwise purifying the water takes a very long time. Priming must be done before you place the Black Berkey elements in the Berkey water filter. Priming means that some water is forced through the element under slight pressure to make sure the Black Berkey purification element becomes wet on the inside (air is expelled from the element). This way you benefit from the full filtering speed of each element. To prime, you can use a Priming Button, a small rubber ring that lets you run water through the element from a tap. This is always supplied as standard in the box with the Black Berkey filter elements. Or you can use this Berkey PrimeRite Universal Primer. You also get an adapter for the Fluoride & Arsenic filters. These filters need to be rinsed through thoroughly before use (this is also called priming), so that all production dust is removed.
