How to prime your filter elements with the priming button
With the priming button you get your Berkey or BOROUX filter elements ready for use in no time.

A good start for your water filter begins with priming the filter elements. With the priming button you get your Berkey or BOROUX filter elements ready for use in no time.
- Fit the priming button onto the filter element and make sure everything sits tight.
- Press the element with the button firmly against a tap.
- Turn the tap on so water passes through the element under pressure. Note: not too much pressure.
- Prime until the air is out of the element and it is ready to install.
- Do this twice, with a short pause in between, so the last bit of air comes out too.
The priming button comes as standard with a Berkey and BOROUX filter element, but you can also buy it separately.
