With most gravity water filters, the top tank has to be lifted to see how much water is left in the bottom tank. But a quick glance at the sight glass tap is all you need to determine the exact water level in your Pure Filters stainless steel water filter (Pure Filters Voyager water filter and Pure Filters Home water filter).

The stainless steel sight glass tap for Pure Filters water filters also fits most other brands of gravity water filter systems, including Berkey, ProOne, British Berkefeld, Alexapure, Moderna, Aqua Logic, Boroux, AquaCera and Patriot Pure. Do bear in mind that it must be the 6 or 8.5 litre version.

The housing is made of stainless steel (304) and includes a glass tube that lets you read the water level easily and quickly using the coloured ball. This tap with sight glass is fitted with a plastic handle (approved for food safety) with 2 positions and a small sight glass. When it is time to clean your stainless steel water filter, simply remove the tap, take the little glass out via the cap on top and rinse the glass tube with water and soap. BE CAREFUL not to lose the ball! Then leave it to air dry.

Installing the stainless steel sight glass tap for Pure Filters Voyager and Pure Filters Home water filters

1. Remove the nut and, if necessary, all 4 parts (cover plates and white rings) from the threaded stem of the tap

2. Place a stainless steel cover plate and then a white ring on the threaded stem of the tap.

3. Push the threaded stem through the hole in the bottom tank of the water filter.

4. Place a white ring and then a stainless steel cover plate on the threaded stem on the inside of the bottom tank of the water filter.

5. Secure with the nut. You may need the tightening tool to fasten it firmly. Alternatively, you can hold the nut on the inside and turn the tap on the outside. Do not overtighten, but it must not leak.
