The BOROUX Legacy water filter comes as standard with 2 BOROUX Foundation Black filters, but you can upgrade it to 4 filter elements. These BOROUX filters reduce, among other things, more than 99% of chlorine, heavy metals, pharmaceutical contaminants (medication residues), pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, plastic and industrial contaminants (PFAS), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), microplastics and disinfection contaminants. The essential minerals your body needs are retained.

Designed for a lifetime of enjoyment

Experience the lasting beauty and durability of this thoughtfully designed system. Materials and elements have been carefully selected with the user in mind. The containers are made of AISI 304 stainless steel to prevent corrosion. The discreetly ventilated lower container prevents a vacuum, while the elegantly curved lid ensures a seamless look. Well-considered design elements improve filtration efficiency and ease of use without compromising on aesthetics.

Minimise your impact on the environment with BOROUX. They give priority to environmentally conscious materials and a streamlined process to reduce waste. The filters, accessories and the system are built to last, with sustainability in mind. A sustainable alternative to disposable products, making every refill a conscious choice for a greener future.

Different colours, unique design

The BOROUX Legacy water filter is available in 3 colours. In addition to the polished model, it also comes in white, black and sage green. These versions have a high-quality coating (on the outside only), and of course the tap and all other parts come in this colour too. A fantastic, unique design!

BOROUX Foundation Black filters

The advanced filter technology does not just filter the water, it transforms it. By removing more than 99% of harmful contaminants, BOROUX Foundation Black filters make sure your water is as pure and refreshing as nature intended. Every reduction of a contaminant contributes to an improvement in your health and wellbeing!

The filters consist of, among other things, a special mix of activated carbon. The BOROUX Foundation Black filter elements contain silver, an antimicrobial agent, to prevent micro-organisms from affecting the product itself. These filters are not intended to filter micro-organisms.

They are also so powerful that they can remove red dyes from water without removing the useful minerals your body needs.

Test reports and certification

The BOROUX Foundation Black filters have been tested by an independent laboratory (IAPMO R&T Lab NJ, ISO/IEC 17025) according to NSF/ANSI standards 42, 53 and 401. See all test reports for more details, with clarity and transparency coming first.

BOROUX is NSF/ANSI/CAN certified by the Water Quality Association (WQA). This important achievement underlines their commitment to delivering safe, high-quality and effective water filtration solutions. This certification is not just a hallmark: it shows that their products meet the strict standards of NSF International (NSF) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), globally recognised organisations that safeguard public health and the safety of consumer products.

Installation

You can easily assemble the BOROUX Legacy in a few minutes without any tools. The first step is priming the BOROUX Foundation Black filter elements. It is important that this is done properly, otherwise purifying the water takes a very long time. For all information about BOROUX water filters, please see our library, where you will find manuals, instruction videos and answers to frequently asked questions, among other things. If priming with the tap does not work, you can order an automatic primer pump or manual primer pump from us.

When should you replace the BOROUX Foundation Black filters?

The BOROUX Foundation Black filters are designed to last for many years. However, we now live in a different era than a few years ago. The number of contaminants has only increased and they have become ever more aggressive (think of PFAS, or the significant increase in medication residues, pesticides, etc.). This has an enormous effect on the filters, which is why it is better to replace them somewhat earlier. We therefore advise replacing the BOROUX Foundation Black filters after 3 years at the most with average use and tap water. If you use water from another source, we advise replacing them sooner.
